FlipSlide's analytics give you insight into how customers interact with your sliders. This data helps you understand which comparisons are getting the most attention and how engaged your visitors are.
Accessing Analytics
Analytics is a Pro feature. To view your analytics:
- Open FlipSlide from your Shopify Admin sidebar
- Click Analytics in the navigation menu
- You'll see your analytics dashboard with all your slider performance data

Dashboard Overview
The dashboard gives you a quick summary at the top, followed by detailed per slider stats.
Summary Cards
At the top of the analytics page, you'll see three summary cards:
| Card | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Total Views | How many times your sliders have been seen by customers |
| Total Interactions | How many times customers have actively used your sliders (dragged or hovered) |
| Engagement Rate | The percentage of views that resulted in an interaction |
Activity Chart
Below the summary cards is a 7 day activity chart that shows your views and interactions over the past week. This helps you spot trends like whether engagement is increasing after you add a new slider or change a page layout.
Per Slider Stats
Further down, each slider has its own row showing:
- The slider's title
- Its total views and interactions
- Its individual engagement rate
- A trend indicator showing whether engagement is going up or down
Date Range Filtering
You can filter your analytics by date range to focus on specific time periods. Use the date picker at the top of the page to select your start and end dates. This is useful for:
- Measuring the impact of a new slider you just added
- Comparing performance across different weeks
- Reviewing activity during a promotion or sale
What Counts as a View?
A view is recorded when a slider appears on a customer's screen. Each time the page loads and the slider becomes visible, it counts as one view.
What Counts as an Interaction?
An interaction is recorded when a customer actively engages with the slider by:
- Dragging the handle in drag mode
- Moving their cursor over the slider in hover mode
- Touching and sliding on a mobile device
Simply seeing the slider doesn't count as an interaction. The customer needs to actually move the divider.
Understanding Engagement Rate
The engagement rate is calculated as:
Engagement Rate = (Interactions / Views) x 100
A higher engagement rate means more of your visitors are actively using the slider, not just scrolling past it. A good benchmark to aim for is anywhere above 20%, though this varies depending on your store's traffic patterns and where you've placed your sliders.
Tips for Improving Engagement
| Tip | Why It Works |
|---|---|
| Place sliders above the fold | Customers see them without scrolling |
| Use a starting position other than 50% | Creates curiosity about what's on the other side |
| Choose eye catching styles like Neon or Spotlight | Draws attention to the interactive element |
| Add clear, descriptive labels | Tells customers what they're comparing |
| Use high quality images with obvious differences | Gives customers a reason to interact |
