Images Not Loading Correctly

If your slider appears but the images look wrong, are missing, or aren't loading, here are the most common causes and how to fix them.

One or Both Images Are Missing

If you see the slider container but one or both images are blank:

  1. Open FlipSlide and go to the slider editor for the affected slider
  2. Check that both the "Before Image" and "After Image" fields show an uploaded image
  3. If an image is missing, upload a new one and save

Images are hosted through Shopify's file system, so they should load reliably once uploaded. If an image was previously uploaded but now shows as missing, try re uploading it.

Images Are Different Sizes

For the best results, both images in a comparison should have the same dimensions. If they're different sizes, the slider may look uneven or one image may appear stretched or cropped.

To fix this:

  • Resize both images to the same width and height before uploading
  • Use your image editor's export settings to match dimensions exactly
  • Common sizes that work well: 800x600, 1200x800, or 1600x900 pixels

FlipSlide scales your images to fit the slider container, but starting with matching dimensions ensures the comparison is accurate and looks professional.

Images Load Slowly

If your images take a long time to appear:

  • File size matters: Try to keep each image under 2MB. Larger files take longer to load, especially on mobile
  • Format: JPG and PNG are both supported. JPG files are usually smaller and load faster for photographs. PNG is better when you need transparency
  • Internet connection: On slower connections, images naturally take longer to load. FlipSlide loads images asynchronously so they appear as soon as they're ready

Images Look Blurry

If your images appear blurry in the slider:

  • Make sure you're uploading high resolution originals, not thumbnails or compressed versions
  • Check that the original image dimensions are at least as large as the slider's display size on your store
  • Avoid uploading images that have been heavily compressed or resized down

Wrong Images Showing

If the wrong images appear in a slider:

  1. Open the slider in the editor
  2. Verify that the before and after images are correct
  3. If they're swapped, you can re upload them in the correct positions
  4. Save the slider after making changes
