If you've added a slider to your store but it's not appearing, don't worry. There are a few common reasons this can happen, and they're all easy to fix.
Check the Slider ID
The most common cause is an incorrect or missing Slider ID. When you paste the ID into the theme editor block or embed code, make sure:
- There are no extra spaces before or after the ID
- You copied the full ID (it should be a short alphanumeric string)
- You're using the ID from the correct slider
To verify, go to FlipSlide, click Embed on the slider, and compare the ID shown there with what you pasted in your theme.
Make Sure Both Images Are Uploaded
A slider won't display if it's missing either the before or after image. Open the slider in the editor and check that both image fields show an uploaded image. If one is missing, upload it and save.
Check That the Theme Extension Is Enabled
FlipSlide uses a theme app extension to display sliders. If it's not enabled, sliders placed via the theme editor won't appear.
To check:
- Go to Online Store > Themes in your Shopify Admin
- Click Customize on your active theme
- Look for App embeds in the left sidebar
- Find FlipSlide and make sure the toggle is turned on
- Click Save
Check the Global Slider Toggle
FlipSlide has a global visibility toggle in the Settings page. If this is turned off, all sliders on your storefront are hidden regardless of their individual setup.
- Open FlipSlide
- Go to Settings
- Make sure the Show sliders on storefront checkbox is enabled
- Click Save if you made a change
Verify the Theme Block Placement
If you used the theme editor method, make sure the FlipSlide block is actually placed in a visible section:
- Open the theme editor
- Navigate to the page where you added the slider
- Look for the FlipSlide block in the section list on the left
- Make sure it's not hidden or placed inside a collapsed section
Clear Your Browser Cache
Sometimes browsers cache an older version of your page. Try:
- Opening your store in an incognito or private browsing window
- Hard refreshing the page (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac)
- Clearing your browser cache
Using the Embed Code?
If you're using the embed code method, check that:
- The full embed code snippet was pasted (including both the script tag and the container div)
- The code is inside a Custom Liquid section or Custom HTML block
- The section is visible and not set to hidden in the theme editor
